The name "Amethyst" comes from the Greek "amethystos" - "not drunk". In ancient times, it was believed that the stone could clear the mind and protect against intoxication - which is why it was often incorporated into drinking vessels.
Another variant of the naming is that Bacchus, the god of wine, frightened a young girl so much that she solidified into crystal. Thereupon the god sighed and when his breath touched the stone, it dyed it purple like the color of wine.
This connection to a clear mind also makes Amethyst a symbol for mental alertness, inner peace and composure.
Amethyst belongs to the quartz family and owes its fascinating color to an artful interplay of nature. Tiny traces of iron ions in the crystal lattice, in combination with natural earth depth, absorb light and produce the unmistakable violet.
In our collection, we present the two most beautiful facets of this gemstone:

A sign of nature: Typical for real amethyst are fine, natural color zones inside the stone. These different color layers are not flaws, but the visual proof of the absolute authenticity of each individual crystal.

Rock crystal is colorless, completely pure silica and the primordial form of all quartz. It forms when hot, mineral-rich solutions cool extremely slowly deep in cavities in the Earth's crust. The more undisturbed this growth process, the purer the result.
The secret behind the clarity and milky structure: Although both variants consist of the same mineral basic material, nature creates two completely different appearances in our collection during the millennia-long growth.
- Transparent rock crystal (clearwater quality): These beads are characterized by a flawless crystal structure. Light is refracted and reflected unhindered, giving the stone the clarity of pure glacier ice.
- Milky rock crystal (milky quartz / matte look): Here, microscopically small liquid or gas bubbles were enclosed during the crystallization process. These fine natural inclusions act like a built-in soft focus filter: they scatter the light inside the stone and give the beads their mystical, soft-white and icy appearance.
Rock crystal is one of the oldest cultically used minerals by mankind. In ancient Rome, it was crafted into elaborate drinking vessels and amulets, while in medieval Europe, it was used as a symbol of purity and divine light in ecclesiastical insignias. In the Buddhist tradition, rock crystal stands for emptiness, clarity, and purity.

Citrine is the yellow, macrocrystalline variety of quartz. The name is derived from the Latin "citrus" for lemon and refers to the lemon-yellow color of this quartz variety. Depending on the origin of the citrine, the hue varies from a soft pastel yellow to a radiant golden yellow to warm nuances - a true sunstone that radiates pure life energy.
Even the ancient Romans called citrine the "merchant's stone" and saw it as a symbol of prosperity and protection. In the European Middle Ages, it was revered as the "sunstone" and worn as a talisman against dark influences.
With its warm, luminous color, citrine symbolizes joy of life, openness, and a positive inner attitude.

Genuine strawberry quartz is a fascinating natural crystal from the quartz family. However, its characteristic, strawberry-red color is not a continuous pigment within the stone itself, but rather arises from an optical wonder of nature: during crystal growth, countless microscopic, needle- or plate-shaped inclusions of iron oxide minerals (such as hematite or lepidocrocite) were enclosed within the quartz.
Although the mineral base is identical, the distribution of these internal inclusions creates the unique appearance in our collection. In a clear, translucent rock crystal base, the red mineral inclusions appear like fine, floating dots or flakes, reminiscent of the seeds of a ripe strawberry. Depending on the incidence of light, these tiny platelets reflect the light in different ways, making the bracelet sometimes appear in a soft rose tone and sometimes reveal a vibrant, deep red sparkle.
Although strawberry quartz is historically rarely documented, in modern European jewelry traditions it is considered a symbol of compassion and warmth of heart – especially popular in romantic pendants.
In contemporary spiritual currents – particularly in North America – strawberry quartz is associated with feminine intuition and a mindful connection to one's inner self.

Rutile quartz was prized as a collector's item in Europe from the 18th century onwards and later used in jewelry design due to its distinctive internal structures.
In ancient Rome, golden rutile veins were revered as "hairs of the sun god" – a symbol of divine clarity and inspiration.

Rose quartz forms deep within the earth through the cooling of liquid rock (magma). Its characteristic pink color is due to the finest, microscopically small mineral inclusions inside the quartz. These tiny fibers are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye, but they filter the light and give the stone its beautiful pink hue.
Unlike rock crystal or amethyst, rose quartz almost never grows into large, perfectly formed individual crystals (points). Instead, it forms in huge, massive blocks. From these rough stones, the round beads for our bracelets are then cut.
Depending on how many of these microscopic mineral inclusions were trapped in the stone during its growth, there are two qualities, which you can also find in our shop:
- Classic Rose Quartz: Here, the fine internal fibers are more densely distributed. They scatter the light, giving the stone its typical, soft-milky and cloudy pastel pink.
- Transparent Rose Quartz: This rare quality has grown particularly pure. Since it contains hardly any internal fibers, light can pass through almost unhindered. The result is an elegant, extremely clear and glassy "ice effect" that makes the color appear particularly vibrant.
Rose quartz is one of the oldest decoratively used quartzes. Already in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, it was processed into signet rings, beads, and vessels – mostly as a symbol of protection and affection. In Roman antiquity, it was considered a symbol of love, emotional depth, and feminine attractiveness and was often made into amulets to express personal closeness and connection.
However, as a macrocrystalline mineral, rose quartz has a brittle structure and is particularly sensitive to strong temperature fluctuations and sustained heat.
To permanently preserve the natural beauty of your rose quartz bracelet, it should be protected from extreme heat (e.g., do not wear it during sauna sessions). Under excessive heat exposure, the mineral can develop fine cracks and also quickly lose its characteristic pink color.
